[mythtv-users] livetv 'menu' crashes frontend

i've been having some issues with mythtv and it crashing when i press 'menu'
when in liveTV mode. i have to 'killall mythfrontend.real' to recover from
this.
recordings/mpg playback seems fine, and is isolated to liveTV only.

does anyone have any pointers as to what i could try to resolve this?

i dont currently have any logs available, so i guess i'll probably need them
