OK, whith that command line I get the artifacts :
$ mplayer -fs -zoom -vo vdpau -vc ffodivxvdpau Amadeus.avi

So, do you think there is no way to use vdpau to decode xvid coded video 
whith a GT220 ? Why ? Has that card not enough power ?
What card is capable of decoding xvid with vdpau if any ?

I'm puzzled...
