[mythtv-users] Fresh Mythbuntu install, does not get bast boot screen

Dave,

It seems you are able to boot but unable to get GUI correct?

(1) Being a completely  new installation, most likely is corrupted so
the easy one would be to reinstall. 

(2) you can try to find the problem:

# less /var/log/Xorg.0.log

(3) you can manually start the display manager
Restart X:

Two ways:

1.
# /etc/init.d/xdm restart

or 
2. 
# rcxdm restart

3. then:

login: enter your username
enter your username password

$startx


Dave many thing can reproduce your problem. The fact that you never had
a working system makes the trouble shooting harder.
