Whether it belongs to the list or not, I can't tell, but I do use the
PS3 to stream videos from mythbackend. I bought the older model
instead of the slim, for the purpose of being able to install Linux on
it. I wasn't happy at all when Sony disabled the feature that I had
bought by forcing a firmware upgrade. They disabled access to the
Playstation Network until upgrading the firmware. My kids were not
happy when I tried to avoid upgrading the firmware. At last I had to
bow for the pressure and upgrade.

I do hope that this enables me to get back what Sony has stolen from
me. I'm not talking about pirating or stuff, I buy games for the kids
(hopefully keeps Sony happy), but I want the feature back. Car
analogy: Oh, sorry, we have to disable one of the gears in your car.
But do not worry, you can keep the gear, but then you won't be able to
drive on public roads.
