Problem #2 is the audio drift problem that has been noted here before.
In my case, the audio frame rate would be identified as 59.94Hz but
the video frame rate would be incorrectly marked as 60Hz, leading to
the drift. I was only able to solve this be reverting to an earlier
version of the firmware
(http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/hd_pvr/hdpvr_v1.0.5.301.zip)
and using the RCA stereo audio inputs. (It's possible that the
digital audio input would work properly with the older firmware, but I
don't want to experiment due to WAF issues.) I also noted that
loading a newer version of the firmware might appear to fix the audio
drift, only to have it return a day or two later.
I've never seen problem #1 on my system.
