[mythtv-users] Has "Fast forward/rewind reposition amount" changed?

Has this functionality changed or is my memory wrong?  Is there another
setting I'm missing?

 

I always thought this feature stepped back a variable amount of time to
compensate for your reaction time to stopping fast forward.  The time
varied depending upon your current ffwd speed.

 

The current UI appears to have a fixed setting, mine is set to 1 second.
This is almost nothing if you are ffwding at, for example, 60 times real
speed.  Likewise changing this to 10 seconds would be too much if you
are ffwding slowly.

 

Can/Could/Should this setting actually be a "Reaction time", eg 500ms.
This reaction time would be multiplied by the current ffwd speed to get
the final back step time.
