What 'horrible luck' have you had?  BTW, I believe the apps on sourceforge are, in fact, .24-fixes but prior to the move from SVN to Git.  There have been a couple of important commits to .24-fixes  (in Git) since the move.

I think the sourceforge project could do a lot better job of describing exactly what is being provided:
o which Git/SVN branch and rev was used
o which OS (10.5.x or 10.6.x) was it built under
o which OS it has been tested under
o what plugins are included, if any.

Unfortunately, there has been basically no activity on the site since before Christmas. 

In fact, similar to the mythtv-for-windows site, we could be providing a high-availability repository of known-good versions of the source code necessary to build under Mac OS.
