Thanks for the feedback.  I did a channel rescan in mythtv-setup, and 
now I'm getting some programid's though (only around 1200 out of 16000 
so far).

That should hopefully address some of the duplicate detection issues.

Going back to my original question, I'm thinking that the only real 
benefit of the RT listings over EIT is getting 14 days of data.
