Is it possible DVD Shrink is passing the VOBs onto the new image still 
encrypted?  Direct access would be able to decrypt it, but access over 
storage groups would not.

If you have a bug open in Ubuntu, the Mythbuntu devs will forward it 
upstream if they deem necessary.
