Thanks for the reply Jarod.  I guess what I should have said as far as
it previously working is that the HD-PVR blaster was always
/dev/lirc0.  I don't know what device was being assigned to the
HD-3000, or if it was even loading.  As I said, I'm not using anything
with LIRC and the HD-3000 so would never have even bothered to look.

The lirc_zilog module has to be manually loaded?  It has been quite a
while since I set this up, but I don't recall putting anything in
rc.local or setting up any other start-up scripts to do this.  I just
boot my system and it is there.  Will have to look through some config
/ startup files to see if I can find anything.

As far as having it work as /dev/lirc1, I was only looking in
/etc/sysconfig/lirc.  Maybe there is another file / setting that needs
to be changed as well?

I will post complete 'dmesg' output later today when I have access to my system.
