You have a good point about the higher density.  I'll check into it.
There were some cheaper drives listed on NewEgg that didn't mention
spindle speed, but said that they were "optimized for video storage".

Question... a lot of you seem to be in GB, or in Chris' case...
Australia.  Are the majority of Myth users on your side of the pond?
