Agreed. OTA only for me. I'm actively rebelling against the
cable-company's DRM with the only proper approach--by foregoing the
garbage they peddle. And, I find that when I buy all the cable-only TV
shows I actually want to watch on DVD (lesser of available DRM schemes
compared to Blu-Ray), I still pay less than I would to subscribe to
cable (and that's accounting for only a single-STB subscription to
cable--not even additional cost incurred to use that subscription with
MythTV: things like multiple STBs and HD-PVRs and such).

At least they could talk on their existing cell phones while waiting.
Of course, once they got the iPhone, they won't be able to use it in
temperatures below 0C, so at least Apple/Verizon are making them wait in

the cold on the right side of the deal.

Hey... I feel you. TV, iPhones, and other tech are not worth putting my
life on hold. However, if I can get it easily, now, and I enjoy it... I
will... if the price isn't outrageous.

Ummm... I don't know about you... but I can only get a few channels via
OTA tuners. I don't live in a big city. I'm about 60 miles (as the
crow flies) from Orlando... and there are only a few OTA channels there.
The ones in my local area are crap... not worth watching IMO.

You can play Don Quixote if you want... and battle the DRM windmill. I
prefer not to wait a year (or more/never) to watch my favorite shows on
DVD. Plus, someone will ALWAYS defeat the DRM. I'd be willing to bet
that someone will create hacked firmware for the Ceton card within two
years... and then we'll all be able to receive encrypted cable TV
without any restrictions. Just like DVD and BluRay... we thought it
would never happen... and today, we can rip those babies to any media we
want!
