I cant help with regards to the actual tuners you need as I am in a
different territory.
The thing is, MythTV does scheduling of recordings and optimises the
recording schedule on the basis of having access to *all* tuners *all* the
time.

Live TV use means that tuners (usually at peak recording times) are
suddenly and unexpectedly unavailable to Myth for scheduled recording. In
addition to this if you have tuners that support multiple recordings off a
single tuner (such as DVB-T, DVB-S, DVB-C and I think ATSC) - known as
multirec - if you enable this Myth's UI requires the user to select the
appropriate tuner; in the situation where is multirec enabled.

So, while LiveTV over network is indeed supported and it does work I
wouldnt recommend it as a standard way of using Myth; it should be the
exception rather than the norm. MythTV is effectively designed that you
tell Myth what you want recorded and it handles the details of what tuners
and when using a "first-fit" type scheduling algorithm (first found
arrangement of recordings to the available tuners).

With regard to networking; cable it. there is often interference such as
microwave ovens, bluetooth, other wifi networks, cars with bad surpressors
all of which interfere enough for your tv to stutter... cable it if at all
possible although feel free to try wifi if it doesnt work people are not
going to be able to help and advice will nodoubt be - use a cable and see
if the problem persists.
