[mythtv-users] Planning to rebuild Myth backend, just need database?

I've had longterm, unresolved package dependencies on my Ubuntu 10
backend. As a result, I have not been able to upgrade to the Ubuntu 11
series. I have decided to take my medicine and just wipe the OS partition
and apply a new install of Ubuntu 11.10 so that I can rejoin the
distribution's maintenance lifecycle.
Fortunately I *have* been able to keep up with the package updates for
Myth, so I regard the system as current from a Myth standpoint. Likewise
for MySQL packages. Therefore my plan to recover/restore Myth would be to
(only) take a full backup of the 'mythconverg' database before I wipe the
system partition. [Yes, I think MySQL is on the same partition as the OS,
I'll fix that]
I'm fairly sure that the only necessary step after the fresh rebuild of
the OS and a fresh package install of Myth (assuming I configure the MySQL
details the same as before) would be to shutdown Myth and restore the full
MySQL backup.
If I do that, the I would expect the following major bits to fall back
into place:
-- tuners
-- listings/recording tasks
-- links to recordings
(I don't run as a FE on this host, so no real video/audio settings to manage)
Since I have a few crontab items for additional SchedulesDirect and other
maintenance tasks, I'll bring those over as well.
Would someone please check me on this. It seems to be the as-documented
method so I'm hopeful that I haven't missed anything critical.
TIA!
