According to the internet you might have better luck with the "correct"
file name extension for MPEG-2 Transport of .mts (from
http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?p=24755#p24755 )

no idea, I just saw some tickets wrt Sony DLNA pass by which all hinted that
they need some quircks.
But transcoding to MPEG-2 PS and calling them .mpg might work, too.
Thanks for the response! Here is an update.
I installed minidlna on my BE and set it up to scan the
/var/lib/mythtv/recordings path and it seems to work now.
I guess it is time to start figuring out how to transcode the video files to
remove commercials, obtain video art and putting the videos in a more
organized structure.
Thanks for your help.
Once I get more comfortable with this setup I will start trying to integrate
the minidlna protocol settings into MythTV.
