Same here. I upgraded in hopes that, based on the changelog, the
firmware would finally solve the well-known stability issue. (I can't
use Gavin Hurlbut's hdpvr-killer device because power cycling the
HD-PVR when it is in use crashes my backend.) Unfortunately, the
abovementioned change makes the new version unusable, at least for me.

Previous firmware versions recorded with values that were almost
perfect compared to the "pure" MPEG-2 via FireWire, so I never
bothered with the Live TV 'g' command. With 0x17, I have to turn Hue
down to 0% or close to it for red to not appear pink, but no matter
what I can't get some other colors (especially yellow) to look quite
right. Back to FireWire, once again, I go.

PS - I found that changing the recording settings quickly tended to
crash the HD-PVR, requiring a power cycle.
