[mythtv-users] Anybody using analog "soft encoder" tuners under 0.24 ?

Well, 9177 happens regularly even with my PVR-250
so that's still an active bug in 0.24.

It could be partly responsible for the issue in this thread,
but given that the .nuv is actually bad I don't think so.

I'm still waiting to see if *anyone* has working softencoder
support for LiveTV in the frontend, and I strongly suspect "no"
will be the (non)answer.  The backend seems to be fine with it
on a recording-by-recording basis, but LiveTV is heavily problematic.

My other mythtv box (main system) restarts X11 when I attempt LiveTV
from a softencoder with VDPAU playback.  It survives better with
software playback, but it's glitchy.

Might as well schedule complete removal of the feature (and .nuv!)
from some future version of mythtv -- probably gives as huge a gain
to the codebase as ditching xv support would/did.  :)
