I'd have to say no. Its a nice alternative for systems that for
whatever reason can't use vdpau (like my intel graphics laptop or an
intel graphics mac mini), but vdpau is still superior for a number of
reasons. First and foremost, support for it is far more mature, but
vdpau also requires less cpu (no xfer of raw video buffers from
decoder to gpu) and does stuff on the render side, including provide a
good array of different hardware deint filters. Ideal combo for me? A
box with vdpau-capable graphics *and* a crystalhd. :)
