I ran into the same thing (also on MythBuntu 10.04), and tried the same 
solution, but then I just got a different error about trying to mount it when 
it's already mounted. It seemed to me that the OS was automounting the DVD, 
and Myth was also trying to mount it. I fixed that particular problem by 
turning off the Myth option to "Monitor CD/DVD (and other removable devices) 
and leaving the mounting to Ubuntu. Unfortunately I still couldn't get the 
internal DVD player to work (and wasn't able to determine why), so I ended up 
switching it to use xine.
