I use a SATA to CF adapter to boot my Revo, it works well.

I'm using a Hitachi "Microdrive", and not a flash-based CF card. It's slower than 3.5" or 2.5" rotating hard drives, but
once things are booted it doesn't really matter much.

The Microdrive is actually spinning media, originally developed by IBM, it's faster than the flash cards.

So it's slower, but more efficient in terms of power, than conventional SATA drives, but that's probably not significant at
those power levels.
