Just to clarify: In MythTV terms, there is no such thing as
0.23.1-fixes, only 0.23-fixes. 0.23.1 is just a snapshot of 0.23-fixes
(r25397). You can see the branches in SVN:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/browser/branches

In MythBuntu terms, selecting 0.23 from the repos, will just keep you
at a version <r25364 to avoid breaking working setups (a
frontend/backend below r25364 cannot work with a frontend/backend at
r25364 or higher).

So, as you've already found out, you should switch all
frontends/backends to 0.23.1 if you want to continue getting auto
builds from 0.23-fixes in MythBuntu :)
