[mythtv-users] Version 0.24 issues with sticky keys and firewire

My Kubuntu frontends and Fedora backend got out of sync (fedora did a
back port or something that Ubuntu didn't pick up) so I went with the
trunk builds on both platforms to get them running compatible protocol
versions. Since the upgrade to 0.24, I have two issues that I have not
been able to fix:

1. Sticky keys in ff/rew. I noticed a significant degradation in the
ff/rew functionality when moving from 0.22 to 0.23. 0.22 worked
flawlessly; like a mechanical VCR, predictable, responsive and
accurate. After upgrading to 0.23 the accuracy and responsiveness
degraded and hitting the spot I was trying for became a challenge. No
amount of tweaking of settings seemed to improve it. Now, with 0.24
they have become all but useless. When fast-forwarding or rewinding,
pressing the play button to exit the ff/rew mode takes several seconds
before it responds and hitting a specific location is impossible. It
has greatly degraded the usability of the player. I'm guessing support
is being phased out (or just plain dropped) for the sticky key ff/rew
mode since the new version doesn't have a checkbox for sticky keys in
the setup. Without this setting I don't know how to turn it off. My
new frontend doesn't use the sticky keys and there does not seem to be
any way to turn it on.

2. The firewire connection to my cable box quit working. It works as
long as the box is on the desired channel before initiating a recording
but if I then change channels (or start on a channel other than the one
the box is already set to) the error shows up. The backend can change
the channel (I can watch it change on the front of the STB), but Myth
doesn't seem to like what it gets and puts the channel back where it
was. About 6-8 seconds later I get a message box that says "Error
opening jump program file buffer". The the frontend output when I try
to change the channel looks like this:

2010-10-24 19:33:50.384 RingBuf(/shome/mythtv/4685_20101024193348.mpg)

The STB over firewire worked flawlessly before the upgrade. I tried
increasing the time myth waits for the channel/signal but no help. And,
as I said, it used to work with the settings I had.

System is a fedora 12 FE/BE with an internal PCIE Dvico Fusionhdtv7 Dual
Express (still works well) and a Motorola DCH3200 STB connected via
motherboard's firewire port. I'm running ATRPM's bleeding
(0.24-238_trunk_r26853).

Any ideas?

Dave D.
