I got the streaming semi working by applying individual settings for
each front end.  And yes vdpau high quality is enabled in the playback
settings.  I do however experience video pause every minute or so when
playing a dvd.  I get pixelation when playing any video on the front
end.  If I use mplayer and samba share there is not pixelation.

Has anyone experienced the pixelation or pause in video problem?  Any
viable suggestions?
