I read a lot of industry publications I was able to get myself on years ago.
One of those is all about and only the cable industry.

They know that Internet TV is a good and a bad thing. They are gearing up to offer their own services of course and want to bring us everything possible that had been and will converge into IP. In fact, I even see how they are using proprietary IPTV protocols to make sure that the general population can't mess with it as it becomes mainstream in the open market.

I think that's fine, so long as consumers complain about not getting what they are supposed to be getting in terms of bandwidth or slowed down packets, they will find themselves having no choice but to take what they can get if they can't force their own on anyone.

Seems like the end result of what ever will come has everything to do with consumers being aware. I have one connection that is a major broadband provider. When I see strange things going on with certain types of media, I get on them like wildfire to make sure they know I'm watching very carefully. Everyone needs to make sure that some traffic isn't being pushed back to make their services look faster, better, that will help.

Bottom line is that there will be choices, broadband providers will not be able to do what they think they are gearing up to because there will be so many alternatives. It's all about us telling everyone we know to make sure they get what they are paying for or complain to your local government.
