[mythtv-users] Directv.pl broken on upgrade to ubuntu 10.10

My upgrade to 10.10 seems to make directv.pl unusable.  A ps -aux of the backend has 6 or 7 directv.pl processes running.  when I manually type a command like "directv.pl" it hangs and requires a control c.  Origionally I thought live TV was broken but it seams to be caused by the directv.pl script.  


I found someone with the same symptoms but his solution did not solve my problem.  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9979248

Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas?
