[mythtv-users] How can I run a user job instead of mythtranscode?

I am not using nuvexport for three reasons:

1. The automatic commercial detection rarely works on broadcasts in the
United Kingdom. It seems that our advertisers make the commercials too
much like the programmes. So I would have to manually go through the
programmes to produce a cutlist: which is far more time than I have,
given that MythTV is recording dozens of shows each day.

2. I don't want to export programmes to a different directory. I want
the recorded programmes to stay in my TV directory, with unchanged
names, so that they are automatically deleted when the partition fills up.

3. I have a separate script I run, calling avidemux, to process
programmes I want to keep, then stick the results in the video
directories. I have avidemux scripts to treat each series differently,
with different cropping margins, different places to remove the logo,
and converting documentaries to editable Xvid, while fiction is
compressed using x264. But the remux script I want to run first does
just that: it remultiplexes Freeview recordings to remove download errors.
