Here's the version from my Dora box
rpm -qa | grep lirc
lirc-0.8.6-7.fc12.i686
lirc-libs-0.8.6-7.fc12.i686
I have 8.6-85 on my centos box installed from ATRPMS testing.
I'm not familiar with using cvs versions. any suggestions on how to do
that?

Chris
