Doh! That makes sense...Sorry.
For anyone else who stumbles on this thread, here is how I found the
seriesID. I logged into my mySQL DB and ran 'select title, seriesid,
description from program where title like "%Top%Gear%";'
Just change the like part to whatever you are searching for and keep the
% as a wild card. This will pull back just the title, seriesid, and the
description (just in case there are multiple title matches like with Top
Gear).
Also, I somehow missed (or didn't let sink in to my thick skull) that
you need to reset the theme in order for this to work. I named my files
seriesid_fanart.jpg and had to log out of the frontend, rm -rf
~/.mythtv/themecache/*, and then re-open the frontend for the background
to change.
Everything is working as I was hoping it would now.
