What do you mean by crashing?

The error is quite self explanatory, there is no hw:1,7 on your box.

Did you change the alsa driver or your audio configuration (either
changed card, played with kernel option etc)

No such device is an ALSA error, for some reasons your device
disappear as far as the alsa driver is concerned.

You should report the problem on the ALSA list.

Try with a different device maybe, 7 may not be the one to use.
