Heh, you are right-- gmail threaded the two together so for me, it
still shows as on the dev list.  Mea culpa.

Well, we don't really take feature requests regardless of the
formedness, so that's not too big of an issue.  It would help if
people let us actually get somewhere with the setup rewrite, though,
as we are finally starting to get worked out exactly how to fit the
pieces together, and moreover, how to apportion and manage the
workload.  A lot of the discussion in this thread is between users,
and that's fine, but understand that we have a pretty clear idea of
what we want, what we're doing and while some of us are probably happy
to clarify things, that we're not really soliciting input on how it
should work at this time.  We're just barely getting to the tenuous
point where we're on the same page about it, and although this might
not make a lot of sense from a user perspective, we need to get some
of this work done "while the iron is hot" if we're to succeed at it.
I don't think we're looking to go back to the drawing board on this
topic right now, or it risks not happening at all.
