I've just recently added Freesat to my system, which has an
ION-based frontend (not dual core, I think - can't really
remember - I'd have to look). Anyway all the HD channels
play for me very nearly perfectly, with Temporal x2 deinterlacer.
I do get the odd tiny pause in video playback every now and then,
which I've noticed only since upgrading to 0.24, but besides
that it seems flawless. So your ION should be able to cope,
I'd have thought.

I'm using minimyth, so a lot of the config is done for me.
