what would make it much easier to configure would be a "Test Sound"
button on the same screen which plays a small sample sound file. this
would allow you to try different settings, testing the sound immediately
until you find the one that works WITHOUT having to select NEXT all the
way up to FINISH, head back to Media Library to play a recording, and
then have to go back into Setup to change the audio device again if it
was the wrong one.

i.e. similar to the Test Sound button on wine's audio config dialog.


alternatively, being able to change the audio output device while
playing a recording would also help. and would also be useful if you
wanted to switch between, say, the TV's speakers or external speakers
(i can't recall if myth already does this or not...don't think so).
