I re-emerged layman with useflag "git", yes.

But I get:

# layman -f -o "git://github.com/MarcT/mt-mythtv.git"

* <urlopen error unknown url type: git>

Yes, I added that xml-line to layman.cfg etc. ... this is trying to
debug things.
