[mythtv-users] upgraded to .24 missing import dvd

I saw this in the release notes and was concerned about it.  I'm sure it has
been discussed to death, but I probably wasn't following the list at the
time.

Would someone be kind enough to share links to the salient discussion
threads that led to this, if you have them handy?  I'd be appreciative.

I can think of reasons why it makes sense (over the reasons I can think of
that it doesn't), but I'd like to read the threads you all think are the
important ones on it, so I can rest easy and get on board, if you don't mind
steering me a bit.
