Thanks Mike.

I think the hardware is fine (it's been stable for several months, and
I was able to watch something today using that capture device). Most
likely this was a problem caused by poor signal quality. I get my TV
signal over the air through an antenna in my attic, and lately I have
been having signal quality problems.

It was strange that I had problems with three recordings pretty much at
the same time, but I guess all these problems could be explained by bad
signal quality.
