I can confirm this. For some bizarre reason, the HD-PVR will not work if
there is no active input on the configured audio input. So setting the
audio input incorrectly (which is normally done with a module load
parameter in Linux) or not having an audio cable connected, will cause
the HD-PVR to produce empty recordings.
