So after toying around a bit, I finally figured out that my problem
was stemming from the cx88_alsa driver not being loaded in the right
sequence.

I solved this by blacklisting cx88_alsa (and snd_usb_audio) and
loading them manually in rc.local so the tuner will always be card 1.

Set myth audio device for the analog card to ALSA:plughw:1,0 and all was good.
