When local access is removed will there be any way to play files that
are actually stored on a frontend? I'm assuming not. That's
something I do all the time unfortunately, as my frontend happens to
to have a fair amount of extra disk I'm not using for anything else.
Most of what I watch in mythvideo is stuff that I don't keep
there...things that get watched and then deleted. I've actually
always used file browse mode with nothing in the metadata tables at
all. It sounds like all that's going away.
I've been moving slowly towards using the internal player for things I
used to use xine for...mkv files for example, but not for DVDs as yet.
I still use xine for those. I won't kid you though...these are not
changes I'm too happy with, though I know there are good reasons for
them.
