If you're using MythTV properly***, you don't. You record anything you
*might* possibly want to watch and that way you always have something to
watch. If you only record things you know you want to watch, you can
run out of recordings, and you will almost definitely miss recording
things that you later find out you want to watch.

I set up my system to record every episode of every single new series
that airs each season. Then, based on whether it's
canceled/not-canceled or people say it's great/terrible or I watch an
episode and decided it's wonderful/garbage, I'll either watch the series
or delete it without watching.

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/188789#188789 for
information on a great way to find all these new series. For those of
you without Schedules Direct, you'll need to use the Title Search screen
in mythfrontend.

***OK, call it subjective, but I still think any other way is wrong.
