First off, MythTV was never designed for this.  You have to expose your 
MySQL server to the outside, which is a bad idea.  Worse, you have to 
expose your backend to the outside, which has no security at all, 
besides the initial protocol check.  To do this, you absolutely must set 
up some sort of VPN.

Second, we need more information about your setup to tell what the 
bandwidth requirements will be.  SD off a digital tuner will be anywhere 
from 1-3mbps.  Mpeg4 off a framegrabber will be 2-4mbps.  An MPEG2 
encoder card will be 3-6mbps.  MJPEG off a framegrabber will be 5-10mbps.
