[mythtv-users] Jamu running slowly

I used to get the occasional email saying "run-parts: 
/etc/cron.hourly/mythvideo exited with return code 1" and I ignored 
them as jamu seemed fine the next time it ran.

However, over the last few days, I've been getting maybe a dozen a day. 
All I can see in the logs is -

! Error: An instance of Jamu (-MW) is already running only one instance 
can run at a time.
One of the meta data sources may be off-line or very slow.
-------------------------

Is it normal for jamu to run slowly when you have several thousand 
videos for it to work on? Anything I can do to ease the load? Is it OK 
for me to edit the script file to not run jamu if it's already running 
to stem the email flood?
