MythTV has not yet migrated to the ffmpeg-mt branch of ffmpeg, so it 
only supports single threaded decoding for most operations.  The 
exceptions are that deinterlacers may run in a separate thread, and 
h.264 playback may be split into as many decoding threads as there are 
separate slices in the video (set by the encoder).
