Ok. I am sorry, but what do you mean by df and Mandriva. I am a total beginner so  where do I start?

It would be the same as the mount point that gets created when the drive 
is plugged in.

If I were to plug in a USB drive, such as my IPOD.  Mandriva creates a 
mount point to /media/IPOD

So, I would tell MythMusic that the directory is /media/IPOD.

You can probably plug in your USB HD and then do a df to find it's mount 
point.
