Er, I thought a major point of these cards is their low power consumption, they even draw all their power from the card slot! Certainly my GT220 has no problem at all in a mini atx media pc box with a 300w psu.

Yes I think you are right.
When I replaced my GT9500 card with a new 220GT card in my combined BE/FE the powerconsumption dropped by 15 watts.
