The SSD thread is at least technical in nature, so I don't really consider
it completely off topic (some might find the information helpful to their
setups).
I am fairly new to the list, so I know my opinion carries no weight, but I
don't see the problem with technically related threads (SSD issues, video
card questions, etc.). At the same time I agree Ryan: threads about TV
shows or trying to sell their old components are probably misplaced on this
list.
