[mythtv-users] Frontend no longer responds to keyboard nor remote after update to Ubuntu 9.04

Hi all!

I have just updated my frontend to Ubuntu 9.04. It was previously on hardy but I carried out a couple of upgrades in a row.

It worked fine until the last upgrade step (to 9.04).

I have used mythbuntu-control-centre to auto-login to the frontend user account and to automatically start the frontend from there. Now when the frontend starts it no longer responds to either the keyboard nor the remote. This seems to be the case because both synaptic and update-manager are also started automatically and they steal the keystrokes (although their windows are both behind the frontend which is full-screen).

I can't figure out how to disable the auto-running of synaptic and update-manager. For that matter, I also can't locate how mythbuntu-control-centre has caused the frontend to automatically be launched when the frontend user account is logged into, so that just demonstrates my ignorance of how all of this stuff works.

Any ideas, pretty please?

Thank you!

Jan
