I did that. It is gone.

The package only contains the /etc/init.d directory, with nothing in it:

$ dpkg-query -L mythtv-backend | grep /etc
/usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib/config_files/etc.security.msec.perm.local
/usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib/config_files/etc.logrotate.d.mythbackend
/usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib/config_files/etc.logrotate.d.mythfrontend
/etc
/etc/logrotate.d
/etc/logrotate.d/mythtv-backend
/etc/init
/etc/init/mythtv-backend.conf
/etc/init.d
/etc/network
/etc/network/if-up.d
/etc/network/if-up.d/mythtv-backend.if-up.d
/etc/default/mythtv-backend
/etc/udev/rules.d/41-mythtv-permissions.rules

This is using the JYA release jaunty repository (23-fixes). It looks like testing has transitioned to a trunk:

$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/avenard.list
deb http://www.avenard.org/files/ubuntu-repos jaunty release

David.
