[mythtv-users] hdmi/digital audio - faster skip response?

I just replaced my video card, my old one was using DVI->HDMI and the stereo
audio output and my new one has HDMI with spdif pass through.

Before when I would skip there would be a very slight delay (less than a
second but noticeable), now it seems instantaneous.   Is that possible or is
it just my imagination?
