The file size change is noted every 2 seconds until 9:05:45, at which 
point there is an 11-second pause with no changes in the filesize (Which 
I'm guessing myth interprets as the recording has stopped).

Because it works in LiveTV mode, it may be that something else (A user 
job) is interfering with the recording. I'd suggest re-running the test 
with all user jobs (commercial flagging, also) disabled, to see if that 
makes a difference.
