[mythtv-users] Judder free playback with mythtv

Since the capability of having mythtv automatically adjust the refresh
rate of the TV to match the video being played was added ; I've had a
few comments, read issues people were having etc.. in particular how
to properly differentiate 60Hz with 59.94Hz and 24 and 23.976Hz

So I've added an entry to the Mythtv manual..

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:JudderFree

I was also pointed to the XBMC entry
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=70068

How to determine what your TV can support in this post is relevant ;
however it won't entirely work with mythtv. I'm not sure what
mechanism they are using to properly identify the refresh rate and
select the appropriate mode ; but this post is based on disabling
nVidia Dynamic Twinview.

There's no need to do such thing is mythtv as since 0.22 ; it properly
supports the nvidia xserver extension provided by dynamic twinview.
and in fact, if you do disable dynamic twinview ; as myth entirely
rely on xrandr to switch frequencies ; it won't be able to tell the
difference between 23.976Hz and 24Hz (xrandr uses integers
internally)...

As a side note, if you are enjoying MythTV and would like to
contribute ; remember that there's the Wiki and the User Manual ...
Remember all the troubles you had to go through to set it up and what
you did to get it working? well, time to contribute back !!

Cheers
Jean-Yves
